Description:This par-5 is visually difficult off the tee. The fairway doglegs right, but if you try to cut the corner too much, there is a fairway bunker awaiting. A good target off the tee is the white house in the distance. The second shot has to avoid the fairway bunker on the left, which is about 80 yards short of the green. This hole is the only one on the course without a greenside bunker; instead, it's surrounded by runoff areas that can come into play if your approach shot is amiss.
How to Play It:Drive up the left side off the tee. This will help you avoid going into the hidden fairway bunker on the right off the tee. Longer players can go for it in two shots with little risk. Most players play their second shots short of the left fairway bunker. A short iron into this green with your third shot is a good play. The green has a false left side, and shots missing the green will go into runoff areas with mounds and slopes to putt, chip or lob over to get up and down. | |
