OUR GOLF COURSE

Golf-Lehman-2013-08The Edina Country Club, originally a 9-hole course (known as Thorpe Country Club), opened in 1923. Renowned architect Tom Bendelow designed the 18-hole course that opened for play one year later. With the clubhouse changing locations, the sequence of holes has changed numerous times through the years, but the layout is basically the same. In 2010-11, the team of 1996 British Open winner and former No. 1-ranked player in the world Tom Lehman and partner Chris Brands redesigned the course, installing new green complexes, bunkers, tees and fairway grasses -- but keeping the same basic layout.

The terrain is gently rolling, with numerous, but subtle, elevation changes. The finely manicured golf course features a wide variety of shot values and angles that challenge golfers of every skill level.

The golf course is known as one of the finest in the state of Minnesota. The club has hosted many state and national championships including the Men's and Women's Trans-Miss, Minnesota State Open, Minnesota State Senior Open, Minnesota PGA Championship, Minnesota Men's & Women's Amateur, Western Junior Championship, MNPGA Junior Championship, MGA Mid-Amateur, MGA Women's Mid-Amateur, PGA-MGA Cup Matches and several USGA qualifying tournaments.
